Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to standardized recipes and menu specifications
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, mixers, ovens, and food prep tools
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations to uphold food safety standards throughout the shift
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, dicing, portioning, and plating to ensure timely service
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure safety compliance
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and meet service deadlines
- Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation techniques
Requirements
- Previous experience in a food service environment, such as restaurant or catering experience, is highly valued
- Knowledge of dietary department standards and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and food preparation methods
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate smoothly with kitchen team members
- Demonstrated commitment to cleanliness, food handling protocols, and recipe adherence
