Performs a variety of clinical duties to provide for safe and appropriate patient care. Works to facilitate processes with other departments, personnel, and insurance companies to coordinate patient care. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values.
Principle Accountabilities:
Performs the primary functions of a Registered Professional nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, educating and evaluation patients in accordance with all established Nursing Standards and Hospital policies. Administers to the individual physiological, psychological and sociological needs of OB/GYN patients in accordance with all established Nursing Standards and Hospital policies.
Responsible for proper use, care, and maintenance of equipment and instruments. Performs a variety of procedures as ordered by the physicians. Assists with examination and treatment.
Responsible for scheduling patients for tests and surgery, obtaining necessary insurance authorization and patient education.
Performs office duties to include, but not limited to, answering phones and intercoms, directing calls or taking and relaying message appropriately, maintaining adequate inventory of medical supplies.
Maintains accuracy of patient charts, updating medical information, reviewing test results and processing them in a timely manner.
Coordinates and facilitates communication between patients, family, physician, other members of the healthcare team, and other hospital departments.
Participates in unit's Q.I. activities to ensure and enhance the quality of patient care.
Performs other work duties as assigned.
Employee is required to sit and walk frequently. Employee must lift/carry a light (1-20 lbs.) load frequently, a medium (21-50 lbs.) and/or heavy (50 lbs. +) load occasionally. Employee may be required to lift over 100 lbs. with assistance. Employee is occasionally required to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, climb, lift waist to overhead. Employee is occasionally required to reach forward and reach overhead. Employee may be required to do simple grasping and pushing/pulling.

Graduate of accredited nursing school with current licensure required.
