About the Role
Uptown Catering Company is a fast-paced, high-volume commercial catering and food manufacturing kitchen in Houston. We are looking for a reliable, hardworking Dishwasher / Kitchen Utility Team Member to join our crew.
In a busy catering kitchen, the dishwasher is the heart of the house. You keep our culinary team moving by making sure equipment, sheet pans, serving platters, and cooking gear are spotless, sanitized, and ready for action.
If you take pride in your work, show up on time, and want to work in a clean, organized kitchen environment, we want to hear from you. Bilingual (English / Spanish) is a big plus!
Key Responsibilities
- Dishwashing & Sanitation: Wash, rinse, and sanitize all pots, pans, sheet trays, kitchen utensils, prep equipment, and event platters using commercial dishwashing equipment and multi-compartment sinks.
- Kitchen Organization: Store clean dishware, cookware, and catering gear in their designated locations so the culinary team can easily access what they need.
- Facility Maintenance: Sweep, mop, clean work tables, empty trash/recycle bins, and maintain clean floors, coolers, and prep areas according to City of Houston Health Department standards.
- Delivery & Event Prep Support: Assist the kitchen team with unloading food deliveries, organizing stockrooms/walk-in coolers, and helping load catering equipment onto delivery vehicles when needed.
What We Are Looking For
- Reliability: You show up on time for your scheduled shifts ready to work hard.
- Pace & Energy: Able to work safely and quickly in a fast-paced, physical kitchen environment.
- Physical Ability: Able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs throughout your shift.
- Team Player Attitude: Positive mindset and willingness to help out wherever the kitchen needs support.
- Experience: Previous dishwasher, kitchen utility, or restaurant experience preferred, but we will train anyone with a great work ethic!
- Communication: Ability to follow instructions clearly. Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
