As a paralegal in the House Counsel office, you'll handle tasks crucial to the success of our law group. In this role, you'll prioritize objecting and responding to interrogatories, requesting admissions and production, and preparing initial disclosures, memos, and motions, (including motions for summary judgment). Additionally, you'll prepare briefs and documents for review and evaluation by attorneys, client communications, e-filing court documents, and possible legal research applying Westlaw and state-specific websites.
This is a hybrid position with occasional travel to an office for meetings and/or training. Candidates must reside within a reasonable driving distance of the office they support.
Must-have qualifications

High school diploma/GED equivalent or higher and a minimum four years paralegal-level work experience.

{OR} Bachelor's degree or higher or Paralegal Certificate and a minimum of two years related experience in a legal environment
Preferred skills

Experience interpreting and summarizing medical records and deposition transcripts

Solid knowledge and understanding of legal terminology and procedures
- Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills in a high-volume legal environment, with proven ability to manage 20+ discovery sets per week while supporting multiple attorneys

Ability to operate a personal computer with a good working knowledge of the following software applications: Word, Excel, SharePoint, PDF/Kofax/Adobe, and Texas E-file/E-serve and PowerPoint

Experience performing legal research using Westlaw and other search engines, as well as drafting legal memos
Compensation
- $35.74-$39.28/hour
