Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our growing construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive electrical cost estimates for a variety of projects, from initial conceptual budgets to detailed bid proposals. Your expertise will help ensure competitive pricing while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to develop precise electrical estimates.
- Utilize estimating software to prepare detailed cost analyses and bid proposals.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project scope and technical requirements.
- Conduct site visits when necessary to gather on-the-ground information for accurate estimation.
- Perform quantity takeoffs, material pricing, labor costs, and subcontractor quotes with meticulous attention to detail.
- Apply knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) standards to ensure estimates meet safety and compliance requirements.
- Assist in negotiating contracts and pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to optimize project budgets.
- Maintain thorough records of all estimating activities, revisions, and correspondence for transparency and future reference.
Skills
- Proficiency in construction estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam is essential.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction processes, and site management.
- Excellent negotiation skills for securing favorable pricing with vendors and subcontractors.
- Deep knowledge of NEC standards, construction contracts, and project management principles.
- Experience with cost control techniques to manage budgets effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents accurately.
