About the Position
We are a small but growing residential and commercial general contracting company seeking a dependable and highly organized Assistant Project Manager to help coordinate our construction projects throughout the Houston area.
This is a hands-on position that combines jobsite visits, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, material management, quality control, and project administration.
The ideal candidate has some construction experience and wants the opportunity to develop into a Senior Project Manager. You do not need to know everything on day one, but you must be organized, proactive, comfortable communicating with different trades, and willing to take ownership of your responsibilities.
You'll work directly with the company owner and gradually take on greater responsibility for coordinating projects from start through completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Visit active jobsites to monitor progress and document work
- Coordinate daily activities with subcontractors and vendors
- Assist with creating and maintaining project schedules
- Confirm upcoming subcontractors, deliveries, and inspections
- Make sure jobsites are ready before the next trade is scheduled
- Track material orders and coordinate pickups and deliveries
- Help verify materials and selections before installation
- Take and organize project progress photos
- Communicate routine project updates to clients
- Help identify scheduling conflicts, construction issues, and potential delays
- Review subcontractor work for completeness and quality
- Coordinate corrections when work does not meet project requirements
- Assist with permit and inspection coordination
- Create, manage, and close out project punch lists
- Maintain organized project documentation and records
- Assist with measurements, material takeoffs, and project planning
- Help maintain clean, organized, and professional jobsites
- Communicate project issues to the owner before they become larger problems
- Assist with project closeout and final walkthrough preparation
- Collaboration with office admin to ensure team alignment
What We're Looking For
- 1–3 years of construction, remodeling, field coordination, or related experience preferred
- Basic understanding of residential construction and the sequence of trades
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and follow-up
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Comfortable communicating with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and inspectors
- Ability to identify problems and work toward solutions
- Dependable, punctual, and professional
- Comfortable using email, smartphones, photos, spreadsheets, and project-management software
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable personal transportation for travel to office or jobsites
- Bi-lingual strongly preferred (English and Spanish)

Compensation
Starting salary: $40,000 per year with the ability for greater earnings
Employees will use their personal vehicle for travel between jobsites, suppliers, inspections, and other required business locations.

As you demonstrate the ability to independently coordinate subcontractors, schedules, materials, inspections, clients, and multiple active projects, there will be opportunities for increased responsibility and compensation.
