Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and highly organized legal assistant or paralegal for a solo family law attorney. The ideal candidate will provide essential administrative support within a fast-paced law office with a strong attention to detail. This full-time role requires strong organization skills and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Duties
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to solo family law practitioner;
- Handle incoming and outgoing phone calls and emails with clients and attorneys in a courteous and professional manner;
- Communicate effectively with clients and court personnel while maintaining high level of professionalism;
- Schedule client meetings, court dates, mediations and attorney appointments;
- Prepare, format, proofread, and file legal documents and correspondence;
- File and manage legal case files, ensuring all documentation is organized and up-to-date;
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while managing multiple tasks effectively; and
- Ensure office supplies and administrative resources are stocked and organized.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or administrative training preferred.
- Prior paralegal, administrative or legal office experience preferred and likely required.
- Experience in a family law or law firm setting is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft office, email and office management software.
- Strong proofreading skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all documentation.
- Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills.
- A paralegal certification or relevant educational background/experience is advantageous.
- Living within the Delavan/Walworth County area preferred.
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
