Assistant Artist Manager
Location: San Diego, CA (Required)
Travel: Required (up to 30–40%)
Compensation: $30–$40/hour DOE
Type: Independent Contractor (Part-Time, 20–30 hours/week)
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and music-obsessed Assistant Artist Manager to support our growing artist management division. This role serves as the day-to-day operational partner for assigned artists, helping coordinate schedules, releases, marketing initiatives, capturing content, appearances, travel, and communication across multiple stakeholders.
This position is based in San Diego and requires travel to artist shows, industry events, content shoots, meetings, and activations. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, can anticipate needs before they arise, and is comfortable working directly with artists and their teams.
Responsibilities:
- Support Artist Managers with day-to-day artist operations and project coordination
- Manage artist calendars, scheduling, travel logistics, and meeting coordination
- Attend shows, appearances, content shoots, and industry events as needed
- Coordinate release timelines and ensure deadlines are met across teams
- Track deliverables for marketing campaigns, partnerships, content creation, and releases
- Act as a liaison between artists and internal/external stakeholders
- Maintain project trackers, reports, and artist documentation
- Coordinate approvals for creative assets, social content, and marketing materials
- Assist with tour and event logistics, including itineraries and hospitality needs
- Monitor artist social channels and identify opportunities for engagement and growth
- Prepare meeting notes, agendas, and follow-up action items
- Help ensure artist priorities are communicated clearly across departments
- Help capturing content for Artist during local events, studio sessions, and work closely with social team.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in artist management, label operations, project management, entertainment, or music marketing
- Strong understanding of the music industry and artist development process
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Comfortable working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when required
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Slack, project management software, and social media platforms
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly
- Must reside in the San Diego area
- Video and content capture experience is ideal for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working directly with artists, managers, labels, or entertainment companies
- Familiarity with Spotify for Artists, Apple Music for Artists, YouTube Studio, and social analytics platforms
- Experience coordinating travel, events, or live performances
- Passion for music, artist development, and digital culture

Compensation
