Growing Folsom, CA based Tax Practice is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Preparer to be part of our team. Duties
- Prepare individual income tax returns using tax preparation software and accounting tools such as QuickBooks, Sage, and other financial software
- Review financial documents including income statements, balance sheets, and supporting tax documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with current tax laws
- Analyze client financial data to identify deductions, credits, and strategies that optimize tax outcomes
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information and explain complex tax concepts clearly
- Stay updated on changes in tax law and regulations to ensure all filings meet legal requirements
- Assist clients with tax planning strategies for future filings and financial growth opportunities
- Support client acquisition efforts through marketing initiatives and providing excellent customer service
Qualifications
- Proven experience in tax preparation, public accounting, or related finance roles with a focus on individual or corporate taxes
- Strong knowledge of tax law, compliance standards, and reporting requirements
- Proficiency with ULTRATAX tax preparation software is a plus.
- Experience with accounting software including QuickBooks and Sage is highly desirable
- Solid understanding of financial concepts, bookkeeping practices, and technical accounting principles
- Excellent analysis skills combined with attention to detail for accurate data entry (including 10 key typing)
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to clients of diverse backgrounds
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines efficiently
- Customer service orientation with a proactive attitude toward client engagement and satisfaction
