Our client is hiring an Engineering Manager to own the full lifecycle of new product development, from project award through production readiness and formal handoff to Manufacturing. This role provides direct leadership to both the Engineering and Project Management teams and holds operational oversight of the internal Tool Room, driving performance across tooling, process validation, automation, and manufacturability. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating as both a hands on individual contributor and a multi function people leader. This is a newly structured role, created through an internal reorganization that combined Tool Room oversight and Project Management leadership under a single position accountable for the entire NPD lifecycle.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Own the complete project lifecycle from award through planning, engineering, tooling, validation, and formal handoff to Manufacturing
- Directly manage the Project Management group, including assignments, priorities, coaching, and accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and customer deliverables
- Provide direct operational oversight of the internal Tool Room, including new tool builds and tooling repairs for external and internal customers
- Own technical execution for tooling, fixturing, process validation, automation, and manufacturability across all active programs
- Partner with Business Development and Sales on technical quoting, scope definition, and manufacturability reviews
Key Skills
- Injection molding, metal injection molding (MIM), and CNC process expertise
- Full lifecycle project and program management from award through manufacturing handoff
- Multi function people leadership across engineering, project management, and tooling teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent
- 7+ years of experience in injection molding, MIM, CNC, or related process engineering (no maximum specified)
- Direct experience managing a Project Management function or project managers
- Experience overseeing an internal Tool Room and tooling delivery
- Proficiency in CAD, GD&T, DFM, FMEA, and validation protocols
- ISO9001 and ITAR compliance knowledge required
- Must be a U.S. citizen (required for ITAR compliance)
Location and Compensation
This is an on site position based in Northern New Jersey. Compensation up to $180,000 commensurate with experience. Relocation assistance available.
Pay: $160,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
