Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Metal Fabrication Associate to join our team and contribute to the production of high-quality metal components. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced fabrication equipment, develop your technical skills, and be part of a company committed to innovation and employee ownership. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and eager to learn new manufacturing techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Grind, sand, and finish fabricated welded assemblies to meet quality specifications.
- Operate fabrication equipment, including saws, hydraulic presses, belt sanders, and other shop machinery.
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on steel and stainless steel components.
- Read and follow work instructions, drawings, and fabrication specifications.
- Inspect completed work to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with material handling, assembly, and other production-related tasks as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
QualificationsRequired
- Experience grinding and sanding fabricated welded assemblies.
- Ability or willingness to learn the operation of fabrication machinery, including saws, hydraulic presses, belt sanding machines, and related equipment.
- Willingness to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials as required.
Preferred
- Experience with MIG and TIG welding of steel and stainless steel.
- Experience welding aluminum.
- Previous experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift 50 ponds and carry materials consistent with job duties.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions including grinding, sanding, and welding activities.
