Social Emotional Learning Interventionist – based out of Sodus School District.

Peaceful Schools is seeking an experienced and dynamic youth development specialist to serve as a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Interventionist embedded in the elementary school (Pre-K - 3rd Grades) setting with the ability to support other grades for tasks such as return from suspension/re-entry circles.
The SEL Interventionist will provide specialized services to our partner school district. Seamlessly integrate into the school environment while representing Peaceful Schools with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to success. The SEL Interventionist will support the implementation of a comprehensive SEL program throughout the school through small-group social skill instruction and structured conflict resolution. The SEL Interventionist will support students’ social-emotional health and development. Supported by the Peaceful Schools team, SEL Interventionists will work alongside school staff to identify and address schoolwide and individual needs.
Position is based out of Sodus School District.
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual evidenced-based interventions.
- Conduct social skill groups with targeted student groupings utilizing evidence-based strategies.
- Monitor and report on student progress in skill groups and individual interventions.
- Conduct Restorative Conferences and Mediations with students.
- Conduct Restorative Circles with students and support staff-led circles as needed.
- Utilize data and school assessment measures to develop targeted student grouping and topics.
- Participate in school-based team meetings.
- Support a safe and welcoming school climate by assisting with Arrival/Dismissal procedures and at other assigned times.
- Conduct family outreach and engagement in coordination with school and district efforts.
- Make referrals for students and families to services and community organizations for additional SEL supports.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records and data to contribute to the monthly reports on services provided.
- Timely completion of all required daily/weekly logs, required documentation, or status reports to ensure both compliance and quality assurance.
- Immediately report all groups/incidents, etc. to supervisor & building admin. contact person regarding reportable situations including but not limited to:
- Situations include violent acts, weapons possession, illegal substance use/sales, discrimination, and incidents meeting the threshold for police notification (e.g. nude photos) or suspension.
- If in doubt, report it.
- All reporting will be made via email.
- Actively participate in Peaceful Schools staff trainings and meetings, as well as in select school-based trainings and meetings.

Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree preferred in Education, Psychology, Human Services or related field, or significant relevant experience preferred.
- Experience in Restorative Practices and youth development preferred.
- Experience working in a K-12 setting preferred.
- Fingerprint and background clearance as required under Laws of New York 2001, Chapter 180, and its subsequent amendments.
- Computer and social media literate including basics in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and social media platforms such as but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
- Full-time, salaried non-exempt position.
- Strict adherence to assigned schedule.
- Typical schedule is Monday through Friday as per assigned school building with the ability to report to company headquarters and other locations as assigned when school is not in session.
- Attendance: Due to the contractual obligations with the school district, this position requires consistent, punctual, and regular attendance. While daily on-site presence is generally expected, team members may be required to leave the worksite during the workday for approved work-related errands, meetings, trainings, deliveries, or other business. Employees are expected to maintain communication with their supervisor and follow established procedures when working off-site or away from their primary location.
- Reliability: Must be present, clocked in on time, and prepared to start work at all scheduled times and clocking out at end of work day.
- Punctuality: Maintain a consistent and reliable work schedule, arriving promptly to begin start of workday.
- Notification: Personally, notifies the supervisor immediately if unable to report to work or needing to leave early adhering to the policy.
- Summer schedules and assigned location may vary as determined by project needs.
- Participation in Professional Development sessions, Open House and Curriculum night events, other essential school functions, and report to assigned location as determined by Project Director.
- Some telecommuting/remote work with supervisor approval.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Position is full-time, working Monday-Friday during the school day, 40 hours per week. with some need to attend weekend/evening events.
