What you'll do:
- Oversee and Manage PD, Sample Coordinator, PD Data Entry and Sample Room (Sample Cutter, Sample Sewer)
- Communicate daily with contractors & fabric mills regarding program requirements. Design requests and program changes, fabric issues/testing/ordering, trims & any product development issues.
- Ensure on-time delivery as outlined in the calendar
- Adhere to and maintain quality in all aspects of development
- Attend initial Design Development meetings with designers to understand fabrics, trims and silhouettes for seasonal development.
- Work closely with Production to allocate styles to factories/pattern makers
- Initiate fabric/trim development as requested by design.
- Responsible for inquiring on all fabric and trim information, creating and managing Fabric/Trim millsheets with all information including lead times for sampling as well as bulk production, price, minimums for samples and bulk production, weight & width, content and mills contact info. Coordinate R & D related dying/washing for sales samples
- Work with fabric and trim vendors to source and develop necessary fabrics and trims, including research on new concepts
- Maintain integrity of all styles, accountable for ensuring all changes are reflected on all samples. Secure all proto, test, and SRS fabric yardage needed for all samples.
- Responsible for maintaining status of all fabrics and trims.
- Coordinate and track status of patterns from fitting to patternmaker to factory
- Manage sample status from 1st proto to SRS samples. Coordinate with factories to receive all samples within a timely manner
- Create and Manage Fit-Log up to 1st Production fit
- Work collectively with production on costing. Negotiate costing to hit company margin goals
- Attend weekly line status meetings and be prepared to discuss all outstanding issues and status of developments against deadlines.
- Work closely with Merchandising and Design for SRS sample list
- Lead style handover meeting, preparing complete information for each style to handover to Production after SRS fitting
- Travel to fabric/trim/vendor trade shows to source new qualities and resources
- Source/Develop fallback options for all core fabrications
Who you are:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Product Development.
- Proficient in Excel or Google Docs.
- Knowledge of an ERP system (Apparel Magic is a plus).
- Adobe Illustrator is a plus.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and a strong attention to detail
- Must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Highly organized, detail oriented, deadline driven, and able to prioritize multiple task
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem analysis and problem solving skills
- Must have a can-do attitude and strong work ethic
