A Mercedes-Benz Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with manufacturer standards. A Technician is expected to perform quality work without direct or continual supervision and be able and willing to work on all work assigned to them.
Job Duties could include:
- Properly complete services and/or repairs according to applicable safety requirements and published procedures/work repair instructions.
- Produce quality work which is evidence of pride and workmanship while making every effort to achieve the production objectives set by management.
- Proactively communicate potential issues with Service Advisors, Parts department, Management, and other departments to provide the best possible customer experience and “fix-it first visit”.
- Complete required Mercedes-Benz and any additional dealership training. Review technical bulletins and other publications as assigned by management.
- Accurately complete Multi-point Inspections and record results.
- Ensure customers’ vehicles are returned clean as they were prior to any service.
- Display proper use of tools and equipment provided by the Service Department and maintain promptly. Use shop supplies and materials in a practical, safe, and economical manner.
- Report to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its personnel, or customers.
- Follow all safety protocols.
- Abide by company policy and departmental best practices and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Prior to being employed, applicants for employment must participate in dealership’s normal screening process which may include completing a full employment application, satisfactory criminal, credit and driving records checks (where applicable), in-person and/or virtual interviews, and other inquiries.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Must be able to drive customer and shop vehicles on public and private roads.
- Authorized to work in the USA for any employer.
- Basic communication and problem-solving skills.
- Basic mathematical skills using Imperial and Metric Systems.
- Physical demands may include constantly retrieval of cars from parking lots, diagnose and repair vehicles, exert force to move/manipulate objects (up to 100lbs occasionally, 65lbs frequently, 25lbs constantly), operate tools and equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $50.00 per hour
