We're looking for a sales hunter who can prospect, cold call, follow up, and close asphalt and concrete work. This is not an entry-level role and not an account-management position. We need someone who already knows how to find business that isn't handed to them, and close it.
Pavecon is one of Northwest Arkansas's leading concrete and asphalt contractors, serving local and national clients on pavement infrastructure projects. We do quality work, communicate clearly, and stand behind what we build, and we're growing because of it.
Once you win a project, you'll own it at a high level through completion, that's the "Project Manager" part of the title. But make no mistake, the core of this job is the hunt: generating leads, building relationships with decision-makers, and turning opportunities into signed contracts.
This role is for you if:
- You have a proven track record of self-generated new business, not just managing inbound leads or existing accounts
- Cold calling and prospecting energize you rather than drain you
- You're comfortable preparing proposals, presenting to decision-makers, and negotiating to close
- You want to be paid for results, not just activity
What You'll Do
- Prospect and cold call to build and manage a pipeline of new business
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new client and project opportunities
- Prepare project proposals and estimates using Pavecon's estimating software
- Present proposals, negotiate terms, and close contracts
- Once awarded, manage the project at a high level through closeout: coordinating with field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients, and tracking budgets, schedules, and risk
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients to generate repeat and referral business
Minimum Qualifications (Required)
- 5+ years of outside/B2B sales experience with a demonstrated record of self-sourced new business (cold calling, prospecting, networking), not purely account management, inbound sales, or retail
- Hands-on CRM experience (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, or similar) for tracking pipeline, activity, and opportunities
- Comfortable owning the full sales cycle: prospecting, proposal, negotiation, close
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple active pursuits and projects at once
Preferred
- Experience in construction, paving, asphalt, concrete, civil, or related B2B/industrial sales
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with estimating or project management software
Pay: $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
