General Manager – Rooftop Lounge (Immediate Hire)
A high-volume rooftop lounge is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager for immediate hire. This leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and fostering a strong, hospitality-focused team culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Culture
- Model, uphold, and continuously enhance company culture and service standards.
- Lead, motivate, serve as a role model, and develop a high-performing management and service team.
- Guest Experience
- Champion guest satisfaction by implementing service standards, training programs, and consistent pre-shift meetings.
- Create a hospitality-driven, guest-focused environment across all touchpoints.
- Events Management
- Partner with the Events Department to plan and execute private and semi-private events for up to 300 guests, sometimes more than multiple in one day.
- Oversee all aspects of event operations, including setup, staffing, pre-production, execution, and follow-through.
- Staffing & Labor Management
- Manage scheduling and labor.
- Support recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of both FOH and BOH team members.
- Operations & Administration
- Oversee inventory, ordering, invoice management, and receiving processes.
- Protect company assets and maintain organization of storage and office areas.
- Team Oversight
- Oversee the Assistant General Manager and Floor Management team to enforce standards and ensure smooth daily operations.
- Beverage & Menu Knowledge
- Partner with the Beverage Management team to ensure FOH staff are fully trained on all menus, including recipes, preparation, wine, and spirits.
- Kitchen Collaboration
- Work closely with the Chef to support kitchen operations and culture.
- Monitor food quality, preparation, presentation, sanitation standards, and cost management, including event-related offerings.
- Performance & Reputation Management
- Monitor online reviews and guest feedback.
- Analyze performance metrics and implement strategies to improve ratings and overall guest satisfaction.
- Oversee Day-to-Day Operations including Floor Management and Staffing
- Monitor and analyze financial metrics, including labor, cost of goods, and revenue, to maximize profitability.
- Enforce compliance with health, safety, beverage and labor regulations while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for staff and guests.
- Cross-Department Communication
- Maintain strong relationships with hotel management, security, maintenance, and ownership.
Qualifications
- At least 7+ years of restaurant management experience, with at least 2 years in a General Manager or equivalent leadership role.
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams and foster a positive workplace culture.
- Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and cost control.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding guest experiences.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Experience with Toast, Open Table, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time (up to 10 hours per shift), including an ability to walk up and down 2 flights of stairs
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $110,000 – $160,000
