Shipping and Receiving Operator
Position Summary
The Shipping and Receiving Operator is responsible for loading and unloading trucks, preparing outbound shipments, verifying incoming materials, maintaining accurate shipping documentation, and keeping the warehouse, yard, and facility organized. This position plays an important role in ensuring materials and customer orders move efficiently through production while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Essential Job Functions
· Load and unload customer and vendor trucks safely using forklifts.
· Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage and report discrepancies.
· Verify materials received against packing slips.
· Prepare outgoing shipments by staging, wrapping, labeling, and performing final banding of skids.
· Complete all required shipping and receiving paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
· Move raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods throughout the facility as needed.
· Maintain an organized shop, shipping area, outdoor storage lot, and loading docks.
· Assist with inventory counts and material organization.
· Keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards.
· Operate forklifts safely and responsibly.
· Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper PPE requirements.
· Support other departments as needed and perform additional duties assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, or receiving experience preferred.
Forklift experience preferred or ability to become certified.
Basic computer skills and the ability to complete shipping documentation accurately.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds independently.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and lifting throughout the shift.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
Ability to safely operate forklifts and other materials.
Work Environment
This position works in a manufacturing and warehouse environment with regular exposure to forklifts, heavy equipment, dust, noise, and changing temperatures. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times.
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
