The School of Education, Social Work, and Psychological Sciences Mission and Vision:
In the School of Education, Social Work, and Psychological Sciences, we prepare educators, educational and policy leaders, behavioral/mental health and human service professionals, and researchers who engage in critical thinking, promote an environment of inclusive opportunity and excellence, uphold ethical and professional standards, collaboratively transform marginalized and underrepresented communities, and embrace continuous learning and growth. Through excellent teaching, world-class research, and meaningful and deep engagement in and with the community, the School of Education, Social Work and Psychological Sciences will positively impact the educational, behavioral/mental health and well-being landscape of Kansas City and beyond.
Organizational Structure:
The School is comprised of four (4) academic departments: Teacher Education and Curriculum Studies; Psychology and Counseling; Educational Leadership, Policy and Foundations; and Social Work. Adjunct faculty teaching in the School of Education, Social Work, and Psychological Sciences are responsible for teaching regular courses as assigned by their supervisor.
Appointment:
These are term, non-tenure-accruing positions. Appointment periods are for the semester with consideration for reappointment.
