This is not just another caregiving job.
Stone & Light is a small, locally owned elder companionship and care company built around a simple belief: older adults deserve to be seen, heard, respected, and advocated for — wherever they call home.
We are intentionally different from large home-care agencies.
We don't want our caregivers to feel like a name on a schedule, and we don't want our clients to feel like a shift that needs to be filled. Because we are small, we are able to be thoughtful about who we place with each client, build genuine relationships with the families we serve, and stay closely involved when something doesn't feel right.
We are looking for a part-time caregiver/companion for approximately 15–25 hours per week who wants to be part of that kind of work.
What makes Stone & Light different?
Our caregivers aren't simply there to complete a list of tasks.
We pay attention.
We notice when a client seems different than usual. We listen when they tell us something doesn't feel right. We communicate concerns. We help families understand what is happening with their loved one. And when our clients are living in assisted living, memory care, skilled rehabilitation, or other senior communities, we continue to be a consistent and compassionate presence for them.
One of the reasons Stone & Light exists is because we believe end-of-life and elder care can be better.
We want to be part of that change.
That means treating an 85-year-old like an adult with a lifetime of experiences — not a diagnosis, a room number, or a task on a checklist. It means preserving dignity, encouraging independence when possible, offering comfort when it isn't, and speaking up through the appropriate channels when our clients need someone in their corner.
What the work may include
Depending on the client, your time may include companionship and conversation, preparing simple meals, light housekeeping, errands, mobility support, personal-care assistance within your training and our scope, accompanying clients to appointments, engaging them in meaningful activities, providing respite for family caregivers, or simply being a steady presence during a difficult season of life.
Some of our clients live independently at home. Others live in senior communities where our role includes companionship, observation, communication, and advocacy.
We may be a good fit for you if:
- You genuinely enjoy older adults — not just caregiving tasks.
- You are dependable and understand that our clients build their routines around your arrival.
- You notice the little things.
- You can put your phone away and be fully present with another person.
- You are comfortable having real conversations with seniors and their families.
- You understand that dignity matters, even when someone is confused, frail, frustrated, or nearing the end of life.
- You can follow boundaries and understand the difference between non-medical care and medical care.
- You communicate concerns rather than assuming someone else will handle them.
- You want to work somewhere your judgment, observations, and relationship with a client matter.
- You are looking for meaningful part-time work rather than simply picking up shifts.
What you can expect from us
Because we are a small company, you will know who you work for — and we will know you.
You will have direct access to leadership when you have a concern. We will work to place you with clients where there is a genuine personality and care fit rather than simply filling an empty shift. We provide clear expectations and support, and we want caregivers who feel comfortable communicating with us.
You will also be trusted with something incredibly important: becoming part of someone's life during a season when consistency, kindness, and human connection matter enormously.
We take that responsibility seriously, and we are looking for people who do too.
