Baker Tank Company / Altech is an above ground storage tank manufacturer working throughout the continental United States. Baker Tank builds new carbon steel and stainless-steel field erected tanks, as well as make repairs to storage tanks. We are currently looking to hire a Construction Manager to oversee all field erected tank operations and construction crews.
The Construction Manager will be required to direct Construction Foremen and crews in the construction process. This position will be responsible for arranging onsite erection equipment and cranes, ensuring that all safety procedures are followed and that construction follows the specifications and proper construction standards.
Responsibilities Include:
1. Manage all aspects of the construction process including proper API construction procedures, on site equipment, Foreman directives, crew personnel allocation, safety compliance and quality assurance.
2. Understanding project contract requirements, required documentation and all construction drawings.
3. Be able to assist in the job bidding process by calculating manhours required to perform construction and repair work.
4. Perform on sight project evaluations and safety inspections.
5. Attend on site pre bid meetings and evaluate work locations.
6. Make and maintain contact with customers for current projects and future sales opportunities.
7. Be responsible for keeping company matters and project specifications and construction details confidential.
Qualifications:
1. Knowledge of industry codes, welding codes and standards. (API 650, ASME, API 653, OSHA)
2. Must have experience of the construction of field tanks including proper construction procedures, tools and equipment needed to perform construction, manpower requirements, time allocation to perform work and knowledge of how to perform work in a safe manner.
3. Must be able to travel to construction sites and be able to move safely around job site including stairs and climbing.
4. Must have good communication skills and be able to explain and direct individuals in a personable manner.
5. Have good computer skills and be knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office Software.
6. Must be able to pass required safety training and testing. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able to obtain a TWIC card, and pass all background checks, drug testing, and alcohol testing as set forth in company policy.
