Duties
- Greet customers warmly, listen carefully to their vehicle concerns, and accurately document service requests.
- Use estimating software to prepare detailed repair estimates, including oil changes, brake repairs, transmission work, suspension, alignment, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and collision repairs.
- Communicate clearly with technicians about diagnostic findings and required repairs using automotive diagnostics knowledge.
- Recommend additional services or upgrades through upselling techniques to enhance vehicle performance and customer satisfaction.
- Manage the workflow by prioritizing service orders and coordinating with mechanics to ensure timely completion of repairs.
- Maintain detailed records of all service activities, parts used, and client interactions while handling cash transactions securely.
- Foster strong client relationships by explaining repair procedures in understandable terms and providing excellent customer service throughout the process.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Service Writer or in auto service management within a dealership or repair shop environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in automotive diagnostics, collision repair, transmission systems, oil changes, tire service, suspension work, brake repair, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and alignments.
- Proficiency with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
- Ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining integrity and transparency with customers.
- Previous experience working with dealership operations or auto body repair shops is highly desirable.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to drive various vehicle types confidently.
- Knowledge of auto estimating techniques combined with sales skills to promote additional services confidently.
