Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces meticulously by cleaning, sanding, plastering, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Execute painting tasks using a variety of hand tools and power tools, including airless paint sprayers and brushes, to achieve smooth, even coats on walls, ceilings, trim, and fixtures
- Read blueprints and schematics to accurately determine project scope, measurements, and color schemes based on color theory principles
- Apply specialized techniques for commercial and industrial painting projects, including stucco application, masonry finishing, and industrial coatings
- Perform restoration work by repairing damaged surfaces, caulking gaps, installing fixtures, and executing remodeling tasks with precision
- Utilize construction estimating skills to assess project requirements and ensure efficient use of materials and time management on-site
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools such as scaffolding, scaffolds, ladders, hand tools, and scaffolding equipment while adhering to safety protocols at all times
Skills
- Extensive experience with residential and commercial painting projects along with construction site experience
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for accurate project execution
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating, basic math skills for measurements and calculations, and carpentry including trim carpentry and frame carpentry
- Skilled in the use of hand tools (e.g., caulking guns), power tools (e.g., drills), welding equipment, and airless paint spraying systems
- Familiarity with plastering techniques, stucco application, masonry work, concrete finishing, and masonry repair methods
- Ability to perform renovation tasks such as fixture installation or restoration projects with attention to detail
- Knowledge of color theory for selecting appropriate paint colors that complement design schemes
- Experience with maintenance tasks related to construction painting or handyman work to support ongoing project needs
