Customer Service Representative (CSR - Remote) $16+/hour

The Customer Service Representative Specialist will be responsible for reviewing concerns from customers concerning missing or incorrect information and verifying that the noted correction(s) are needed. Once the issue has been verified, the Customer Service Representative Specialist will edit necessary fields in a database. This includes:
- Respond to a high call volume of inbound phone calls daily.
- Receive calls from medical providers to answer questions about claims they have submitted – the status, reasons for denial or payment amounts. You will use our various systems to find the sometimes-complex information and be expected to patiently explain it in a way that is easy-to-understand.
- Quickly and efficiently respond to billing agents in hospitals and clinics regarding claim payment statuses, billing inquiries, and correcting billing errors as needed.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in handling confidential information and records.
- Provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive experience for each caller.
- Answer calls in a timely, efficient, respectful manner.
- Review documents that have missing or incorrect information and confirm that the corrections are accurate
- Edit fields that are missing or incorrect using the OCR (Optical Character Recognition) repair queue
Job Responsibilities:
- Resolve customers' service or billing complaints by performing activities such as exchanging merchandise, refunding money, and adjusting bills.
- Contact customers to respond to inquiries or to notify them of claim investigation results and any planned adjustments.
- Refer unresolved customer grievances to designated departments for further investigation.
- Keep records of customer interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, and comments, as well as actions taken.
Skills:
- Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, customer service skills and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Great time management.
- Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information.
- Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
Minimum Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to Department of Defense restrictions.
- 2 or more years of experience in customer service in a health insurance and / or call center environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to learn medical and insurance terminology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Be comfortable navigating dual monitor screens and between multiple programs at once.
- Strong skillsets in multi-tasking, research, and problem-solving.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 2-4 years customer service, related experience required.

Additional Information
- Training Schedule: The first month will consist of training. The training shifts will go from 7:55am-4:35pm CST Monday-Friday.
- Scheduled Shift: Once training is completed, schedule selections will be prioritized based on business needs (if applicable, preference will be based on individual performance.) You could be scheduled to work 8 - hour shifts starting between Monday 8:00am to 11am Central Time (ending between 4:30pm to 8:00pm Central Time). Most likely the 11am to 8pm shift will be the regular schedule upon completion of training. There will also be an opportunity to participate in a Tri or Quarterly Shift Bid Process.

- Starting Base Wage: $16+ per hour
- Work Location: The position is 100% remote. The assigned office for this position is in Madison, WI, though all work for this position is remote.
- Remote Worker Requirements: For remote position, employee is required to meet remote worker requirements, including a designated workstation, a wired (Ethernet) connection to the network, and a minimum of 10Mbps download speed connection with at least 1Mbps upload speed (can be checked at https://speedtest.net)
