Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Travel MRI Technician to join our dynamic imaging team immediately. In this role, you will operate Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanners to produce detailed images of patients’ internal structures, supporting accurate diagnosis and patient care. You will travel to various healthcare facilities, providing expert imaging services while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety, comfort, and image quality. Your expertise in medical imaging technology and patient-centered care will be vital in delivering exceptional diagnostic evaluations across diverse clinical settings.
Responsibilities
- Operate MRI scanners with precision, ensuring high-quality image acquisition for diagnostic purposes.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort throughout the scan.
- Maintain strict adherence to equipment safety procedures and infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and radiation safety regulations.
- Assist with other diagnostic imaging procedures such as CT scans, DEXA scans (for bone density), sonography, and vascular access as needed.
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare teams to optimize imaging protocols based on patient physiology and clinical requirements.
- Manage image storage and transfer using Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), ensuring accurate documentation for patient records.
- Follow all patient safety guidelines, including basic life support (BLS) procedures, to respond effectively in emergency situations.
Requirements
Job Details/Requirements:
- Start Date: 2-4 weeks from offer
- A 13 week contract with possibility of extension
- Must have 2+ years of experience as a MRI Tech
- Must have active BLS , ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certifications
- Epic charting experience
- Must have active licensure in the state (where applicable)
- Proven experience operating MRI scanners with a strong understanding of medical imaging principles and anatomy knowledge.
- Certification or licensure in radiologic technology or related field; additional certifications such as BLS or IV insertion are preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and diagnostic radiology practices to accurately interpret imaging needs.
- Familiarity with medical equipment operation, equipment safety procedures, and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety at all times.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals while demonstrating professionalism and compassion.
- Flexibility to travel between multiple healthcare facilities as required by the assignment schedule.
