The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests and plays an important role in creating a positive dining experience. This position is responsible for greeting guests, managing the waitlist, and coordinating seating to support smooth restaurant operations. The host helps create a welcoming atmosphere and ensures guests feel comfortable from the moment they arrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests as they enter the restaurant and provide a friendly welcome
- Manage reservations and waitlists
- Seat guests in an organized and efficient manner
- Maintain an accurate seating chart and communicate with servers about table availability
- Answer phone calls and assist with guest inquiries
- Keep the host stand and entrance area clean and organized
- Assist servers and staff when needed to support overall service
Qualifications
- Friendly and professional attitude
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stay organized and handle multiple tasks at once
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Prior restaurant experience is helpful but not required
