The Manufacturing Tech I supports a team of Manufacturing Engineers. This is achieved through activities including, assisting in, creating fixtures, assembling workstations, maintaining production equipment, troubleshooting issues, facility maintenance, product lifecycle testing and many other projects. This position will be in a fast-paced work environment where timely response to manufacturing issues is paramount.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: (include, but not limited to):
Under limited supervision, the Manufacturing Technician will be expected to:
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment by following all safety related policies and highlighting opportunities for improvement
- Support Manufacturing in daily production requirements by quickly and efficiently solving problems.
- Support Manufacturing by developing and machining basic fixtures/tooling for new products and improving existing products
- Support Manufacturing and Engineering in the development of assembly processes and assembly instructions for new and existing products
- Support Manufacturing in work cell development and lean manufacturing improvement initiatives
- Support Manufacturing and Engineering in the development and execution of Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s)
- Utilize data collection and statistical analysis methods as defined in test plans and root cause analysis
- Address root cause and corrective action with teams when an issue is discovered either internally or externally
- Willingness to travel infrequently both domestically and internationally
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to support operational performance
Educational and Skill Requirements:
- Highschool Diploma or GED
- Post high school Technical/Vocational school degree or education preferred
- You will employ a variety of hand tools, power tools and machine shop equipment to perform various maintenance type tasks for the Manufacturing Engineering team.
- You are able to use and understand measuring devices, meters, and detailed mechanical drawings.
- You have the ability to read, write and communicate technical information effectively.
- You have working knowledge of, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and building maintenance.
- You have computer experience with Word, Excel and preferably Solidworks.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, and walk about the facility
- Required to occasionally lift up to 50lbs
- Pushing/pulling force to be exerted: 1-10 lbs., distance of 100 ft max on concrete surface
- Requires manual dexterity for light mechanical work
- Requires good vision and hearing
Equipment Used:
- Small hand tools, scales, computers, hand presses and drill presses
- Personal protective equipment such as safety glasses
Work Schedule:
- Ability to work flexible hours, with additional time as needed.
- Less than 1% unplanned absenteeism is expected.
- No more than 40 unexcused hours per calendar year
Pay: $41,600.00 - $58,531.00 per year
