Swine Barn Maintenance
Herrondale Sow Farm Barn – Henry, TN
Swine Barn Maintenance’s primary responsibility is to perform ongoing maintenance and complete repairs on equipment to keep the swine process running smoothly. Duties include a variety of building and land maintenance tasks involving building repair and manure management.
In this role you should expect to
- Perform general and preventative maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment inside and outside the farm
- Maintain grounds outside facility – this includes trash removal, operating tractor to cut grass/fields, removal of snow/ice on roads in winter, adding gravel due to wash out
o Mowing
o Weed cutting
o Bushhogging
- Complete all maintenance tasks related to electrical, carpentry, welding, heating, ventilation, plumbing, and other miscellaneous duties as assigned
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems, repair and/or replace parts
- Control pests on property and in buildings (rodents, insects)
- Follow and adhere to all company policies and procedures
Who You Are

Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- General maintenance experience, including electrical and welding skills.
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Dependable with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, machinery, and heavy equipment.
- Ability to respond to maintenance emergencies outside of normal working hours, as needed.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Physical Requirements

Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds and repeatedly lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing or sitting) for extended periods as required by the job.
- Ability to move throughout the worksite, including walking over uneven surfaces and accessing work areas.
- Ability to frequently bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, climb ladders or stairs, and reach as necessary to perform maintenance tasks.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, machinery, and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, and other conditions typical of maintenance work.
- Ability to safely operate a company vehicle when required for job duties.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements, including grasping, gripping, pushing, pulling, and handling tools and equipment.
