Job Position – Pastor, Missions Ministries
(Position Description – full-time, salaried, exempt, ministry, and at-will)
Location – Oklahoma City
Scope of Position:
The Pastor, Missions Ministries coordinates, plans, and leads local and global mission/outreach efforts in collaboration with the Missions/Outreach and leadership teams of Crossings Community Church (CCC or Crossings). The primary goal is to develop, document, enhance, and communicate a robust local and global mission strategy that will be implemented across all Crossings locations. This strategy is designed to empower our attendees to be a voice of hope and live courageously as they join in God’s redemptive work through missions’ ministries.
To ensure we are known by our love; this framework will focus on the following key objectives:

Relational Evangelism: Providing clear opportunities for attendees to share their faith through authentic relationships.

Strategic Alignment: Unifying our missions’ efforts across every location to ensure a consistent and impactful presence.

Active Participation: Creating accessible pathways for our church community to engage directly in local and global mission work.
Organizational Relationships:
Reports directly to the Pastor, Ministry & Operations. Collaborates with Location Pastors, other departments and CCC staff, ministry partners, focused internal Missions advisory teams, and volunteers to support the local and global ministry efforts of Crossings. Direct Reports include leaders in Crossings Community Clinic, Crossings Community Center, Local Missions, Prison Ministry and the Support Coordinator, Missions Ministries. Global Mission leadership is integrated in the Pastor, Missions Ministries role and responsibilities.
Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning: Develop and enhance the strategic plan for Missions Ministries, including program objectives and accountability for both local and global initiatives.

Financial Stewardship: Collaborate with Local and Global team members and the Crossings Leadership Team to formulate the annual Missions department fiscal year budget for recommendation to the Board of Elders.

Leadership Development: Recruit, equip, and empower volunteer leaders and staff within the Missions Ministries.

Outreach & Events: Partner with staff and volunteers to design implement, and oversee outreach opportunities and champion special events that support our partner ministries.

Partnership Management: Nurture local and global ministry partnerships and oversee Prison Ministry initiatives. With God’s guidance and wisdom seek and modify partnerships as necessary.

Internal Collaboration: Foster mission participation across all Crossings departments (Kids, Student, Adult, etc.) and locations by assisting with ministry planning and execution.

Communications: Maintain up-to-date website and print communications for all local and global efforts.

Pastoral & Professional Standards: Share general pastoral duties and represent Crossings in civic efforts, while maintaining the highest professional ethics in alignment with our Core Values and Purpose Statement.

Serve as coordinating Pastor for the volunteer Missions Team and the Missionary Care Teams for meetings, follow-up and outcomes.

Oversee and nurture global long-term ministry and missionary partnerships.

Oversee trip experiences with partners that include developing team leaders, scheduling, promotion, spiritual preparation and debriefs of teams, and budget oversight.

Continuous Learning: Demonstrate a commitment to learning by staying current with missiology trends and best practices through ongoing reading and strategic relationships.

Assist in maintaining the highest possible ministry standards and professional ethics in accordance with the goals, Purpose Statement, and Core Values of Crossings Community Church.

Support the leadership of CCC, contributing to the spirit of unity among the staff and congregation.

Represent Crossings in civic and ministry-related efforts as approved or requested.

Perform any other duties or tasks to accomplish responsibilities associated with this position or as may be needed or assigned to fulfill the needs, mission and goals of Crossings’ ministries.

Leadership & Collaboration: Evidence of empowering volunteers through meaningful involvement, building cohesive staff and volunteer teams, and utilizing strong written and verbal skills to develop partnerships with community leaders.

Technical & Logistics: Possess moderate fluency in MS Office, a current unrestricted driver’s license, and the personal flexibility for international travel.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred.

Three years progressive management and staff supervisory experience.

Ministry training/education and/or the desire to become an ordained Pastor preferred.
Physical & Other Requirements for Position
-
Be able to walk a long distance (up to a quarter of a mile); and be able to lift and carry 25-35 lbs. parcels for distances of up to 500 feet.

Able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.

Possess a current unrestricted driver’s license.
