The ideal candidate is a Virginia-licensed RN with 10+ years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position requires a strong leader with extensive knowledge of Virginia DBHDS, DMAS, HCBS, Part V, WAMS, and CHRIS requirements.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Virginia RN License.
- Meets applicable qualifications to serve as a QDDP.
- 10+ years of professional experience preferred.
- Extensive experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of DBHDS, DMAS, HCBS, Part V, WAMS, and CHRIS.
- Experience with healthcare and/or residential services.
- Strong understanding of risk management, incident reporting, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent clinical judgment, leadership, communication, organization, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively with executive leadership and interdisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical nursing and QDDP oversight for individuals receiving agency services.
- Monitor health, safety, medical needs, medications, treatments, and changes in condition.
- Review ISPs, medical records, incident reports, progress notes, and other required documentation.
- Monitor compliance with DBHDS, DMAS, HCBS, Medicaid, and agency requirements.
- Identify, document, and track risk triggers and trends across the Healthcare and Residential Divisions.
- Lead and/or support Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Improvement (QI) activities.
- Identify recurring deficiencies and assist with root-cause analysis and corrective action plans.
- Monitor incident follow-up and ensure appropriate documentation and resolution.
- Assist with regulatory audits, inspections, investigations, and compliance reviews.
- Provide guidance, leadership, and training to nursing, residential, and direct-care staff.
- Work closely with agency leadership to strengthen quality, compliance, health, safety, and service delivery.
