Great people don't wait around for a job posting to find them, and neither do we.
Vertin is growing, and we're looking for someone who thrives on the hunt: building relationships with talent before a role ever opens, showing up on campuses and at mortuary science programs as the face of what it means to build a career here, and turning outreach into real connection instead of another templated email.
This is a role for a natural connector. Part storyteller, part strategist, part talent scout — you'll spend your time where great people already are, not waiting for them to come to you.
What you'll actually be doing:
-
Building pipelines for our hardest-to-fill roles across 90+ locations and 8 states — before the need is urgent
-
Most of your time will be spent in the hunt- digging past job boards to find passive candidates and niche talent others aren't reaching
-
Designing outreach campaigns (email, SMS, social) that feel personal, because relationships take more than one touch, they take multiple
-
Becoming the go-to person for mortuary science programs, career fairs, and our internship cohort — helping the next generation see a future here
-
Partnering with marketing to help tell Vertin's story on LinkedIn, Handshake, and beyond
-
Keeping candidates informed and supported at every step, so no one falls through the cracks
-
Behind the scenes, you'll keep things moving- tracking background checks, maintaining accurate candidate data, and following up at key points so no one falls through the cracks
Requirements
What you bring:
-
A bachelor's degree in psychology, HR, business, or marketing
-
1+ years sourcing or talent acquisition experience, ideally in a competitive or niche market
-
A "figure it out" mindset — comfort building something from scratch
-
Curiosity. Always wanting to know why.
-
Genuine curiosity about people and what draws them to meaningful work
-
Confidence representing Vertin in a room, on a stage, or at a career fair booth
Why Vertin:
This work isn't just recruiting — it's finding the people who are called to serve others, the way our associates have been for over 120 years. You'll have the autonomy to build something real, the backing of a team that values continuous improvement over perfection, and the chance to shape how the next generation of caregivers finds their way to this work.
You've been called to serve others. So have we.
