Position Overview:
Houston Hyperbaric Oxygen Center is seeking a dedicated Wound Care Physician or Podiatrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with a fully functional hyperbaric unit, providing advanced wound care services and hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) to patients. We are especially interested in physicians with a background in wound care or podiatry, though we also welcome candidates from surgical, emergency, or internal medicine backgrounds who are interested in transitioning into this field. Comprehensive training will be provided for candidates without prior experience in hyperbaric medicine.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and manage acute and chronic wounds, ensuring high-quality patient care
- Administer hyperbaric oxygen therapy as part of a multidisciplinary treatment approach
- Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans
- Perform patient assessments, order diagnostics, and monitor treatment progress
- Educate patients and families on wound care, treatment options, and prevention
- Maintain accurate and compliant medical records
- Participate in ongoing education related to wound care and hyperbaric medicine
Qualifications:
- MD/DO or DPM degree from an accredited program
- Current and active medical license
- Experience in wound care or podiatry preferred, but not required
- Willingness to complete wound care certification and a 40-hour HBOT course (required upon hire if not already completed)
Schedule:
Monday to Friday
7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
