Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and electrical wiring diagrams to diagnose issues accurately.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and plumbing components using hand tools and diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure efficiency and compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics and system repairs to resolve complex issues swiftly.
- Service HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration) units in various property types while providing exceptional customer service.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all repairs and inspections thoroughly.
- Ensure compliance with EPA regulations related to refrigerants and other environmental standards.
- Assist with HVAC system design or modifications based on client needs or building specifications when required.
- Operate company vehicles safely as a <PERSON> driver to reach job sites promptly.
Requirements
- Proven experience in HVAC system repair, installation, or maintenance within construction or property maintenance environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and diagnostic equipment like ohmmeters.
- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, building automation systems, electrical systems, and plumbing is essential.
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable.
- Certification such as EPA 608 or equivalent is required for refrigerant handling; additional certifications in HVAC/R or electrical diagnostics are preferred.
- Ability to read technical diagrams accurately and troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical issues efficiently.
- Experience working with boilers, mechanical systems repair, or field service operations is advantageous.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients on-site.
- Valid driver’s license suitable for operating company vehicles safely in accordance with <PERSON> driver standards.
