American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Echo Technologist/Cardiac Sonographer with at least one year of cardiac pediatric echo experience for an inpatient and outpatient care team role.

Position is within a Pediatric Echo/Cardiac unit providing care on both inpatient and outpatient basis
-
Reports to the Clinic Manager as part of the patient care team

Daily caseload of 4-5 studies per session
-
5x8 hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Cerner charting system experience preferred
-
Teaching hospital experience preferred
-
Minimum of 1 year of cardiac pediatric echo experience and 6 months of pediatric echocardiography experience required; 3 years preferred
-
Graduate of an accredited echocardiography training program or equivalent experience in pediatric or adult echocardiography

BLS certification required
-
ARDMS RDCS-PE certification required
-
RDCS-Peds, RCS, or RCCS certification required

License required if applicable

Proficiency in pediatric echo skills including 2-D echo, color doppler, pulsed wave doppler, and portable studies

Experience with 3-D echo, continuous wave doppler, M-mode, RVIT/RVOT assessment, and post-surgical repair scanning preferred

Experience scanning complex anomalies including coarctation of the aorta, tetralogy of fallot, hypoplastic heart syndrome, and transposition of the great vessels preferred

TEE experience preferred

Experience with GE, Philips, and Siemens equipment, and PACS system preferred

Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE and obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG
-
Experience performing procedures on patients in ICU/ED settings
-
Provides cardiac echo studies as part of a collaborative patient care team

First-time travelers will be considered with strong pediatric cardiac echo experience
-
Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
-
Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
-
Former staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before reapplying to travel positions
-
Two supervisor-level or above references required, dated within 1 year of the start date or from the candidate's most recent employer
-
Travelers may be required to float per facility guidelines and must agree to float requirements prior to starting

Up to 16 hours of orientation modules may be required, completed during orientation and varying by specialty
