Purpose
The Campus Safety Team supports the boarding school community by maintaining a safe, orderly, and well-supervised environment across the campus. This role focuses on monitoring, observing, and reporting, enforcement of campus rules and security functions. The position helps ensure student welfare and campus safety through visibility, communication, and routine checks.
Essential Job Functions
- Patrol school grounds, dormitories, and common areas to ensure safety and prevent unauthorized access
- Monitor security systems including CCTV, alarms, and access control devices
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and emergencies with calm and efficiency
- Enforce curfew policies and ensure dormitory doors and campus gates are secured
- Maintain accurate logs of nightly activity, incidents, and maintenance concerns
- Assist students and staff with safety-related needs during overnight hours
- Coordinate with local law enforcement or emergency services when necessary
- Conduct routine checks of emergency equipment and report any deficiencies
Required Certifications/Licensures
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience in campus supervision, residential life, or facility monitoring helpful but not required.
- Ability to stay alert and responsive throughout overnight shifts
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact respectfully with students and adults.
- Ability to remain calm, observant, and professional in routine and urgent situations.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with camera or monitoring systems preferred.
- Must pass background check and drug screening and fingerprints will be required.
Work Environment
- Evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday hours may be required.
- Reports directly to the Safety Officer and Director of Student Life as needed.
Job Type: Full-Time
Days and Hours: Variable nights, 10 hour shifts.
