THE LOT LA JOLLA is LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED Restaurant MANAGER
SUMMARY:
The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day front-of-house operations across the cinema, restaurant, bar, café, lobby, and guest service areas during assigned shifts. Working under the general direction of the General Manager, this role ensures a smooth, efficient, and elevated guest experience through hands-on leadership, strong team supervision, and consistent execution of THE LOT’s service standards.
The Restaurant Manager leads by example while supporting staffing, operational readiness, guest satisfaction, and cross-department coordination. This position plays a key leadership role in executing in-house events, private functions, and special activations while maintaining THE LOT’s culture of hospitality, accountability, and operational excellence.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee daily floor operations across cinema, restaurant, bar, café, lobby, and guest service
areas.
- Ensure all guests are greeted promptly and provided with the highest level of customer care.
- Lead shift operations by maintaining cleanliness, organization, adequate staffing, and
completion of side work.
- Monitor team member performance and hold staff accountable to guest service, appearance,
and operational standards.
- Coach, motivate, train, and develop team members to support individual growth and shift
success.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new team members to ensure proper integration and role
readiness.
- Conduct daily floor walks to ensure all public areas, auditoriums, dining spaces, service
stations, and restrooms are clean, stocked, and operational.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, SOPs, health standards, sanitation procedures,
and safety requirements.
- Oversee team member meal breaks, rest breaks, and overtime in accordance with labor laws
and company policy.
- Maintain and update checklists, side work assignments, operational logs, and shift
communication notes.
- Maintain proficiency in Vista POS systems including ticket sales, comps, swaps, refunds,
memberships, gift cards, and point redemption.
- Support Vista Back Office functions including audits, reporting, and operational adjustments.
- Coordinate communication between front-of-house, kitchen, bar, cinema, and management
teams to ensure seamless service flow.
- Assist with inventory counts, product ordering, supply replenishment, and cost-control
procedures.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns, complaints, and service recovery
opportunities.
- Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate daily priorities, service notes, and event details to
staff.
- Oversee execution of private events, in-house promotions, screenings, and special activations
at the location.
- Ensure proper staffing, setup, timelines, and service standards for all events hosted at the
venue.
- Support post-event breakdown, operational reset, and follow-up communication with
management.
- Report guest incidents, maintenance concerns, and team member injuries promptly to
management and HR.
- Perform opening, closing, administrative, and other related duties as assigned.
The associate is held accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or management experience in hospitality, restaurant,
entertainment, or multi-department operations.
- Proven leadership ability in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
- Experience with restaurant, bar, cinema, or event operations preferred.
- Experience with POS systems, scheduling systems, and Microsoft Office preferred.
- Strong communication, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Demonstrated dependability regarding attendance, punctuality, and follow-through.
- Fluency in other languages is beneficial.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $71,000.00 - $74,000.00 per year
