Position Summary
Conroe Hay Sales is seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Class A Driver to transport hay, construction materials, equipment, and related products throughout Texas and Arkansas. This position requires a professional driver who can safely operate trucks and trailers while maintaining excellent customer service and representing the company in a professional manner.
The ideal candidate will have experience hauling agricultural products, construction materials, flatbed loads, and equipment. Drivers must be capable of operating trucks equipped with manual (standard) transmissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport hay, construction materials, equipment, and related products.
- Complete local deliveries throughout the Houston and Conroe area.
- Perform dedicated hauling routes into Arkansas as assigned.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and equipment.
- Properly secure loads using chains, binders, straps, tarps, and other approved securement methods.
- Operate trucks and trailers in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials when necessary.
- Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, fuel records, and delivery documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and management.
- Report vehicle maintenance issues, safety concerns, and equipment needs promptly.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance of trucks, trailers, & equipment.
QualificationsRequired
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Ability to operate trucks equipped with a manual (standard) transmission.
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and load securement requirements.
- Ability to safely operate trucks and trailers under various road and weather conditions.
- Ability to lift, climb, bend, and secure loads as required.
Preferred
- Experience hauling hay, agricultural products, construction materials, equipment, or flatbed freight.
- Experience operating tractors, forklifts, or heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of load securement and flatbed operations.
- Current DOT Medical Card.
- OSHA 10 Certification.

Compensation Structure
This position utilizes a dual compensation structure:
- Hourly Pay: Local deliveries, loading assistance, yard work, and other assigned duties.
- Flat-Rate Load Pay: Dedicated Arkansas hauling routes are compensated at a predetermined rate per load.
