Overview
We are looking for a part-time and in-person tutor for our daughter. She will be a junior for the 2026/27 school year and doing an online high school for the first time (she was in an outdoor school during COVID). She has a 3.7 gpa and is an honors student but her last high school wasn't challenging her and there were a lot of social issues.
She'll be in Geometry 2 this year while also taking Language Arts, Science, Spanish, World History....
We're looking for someone to work with her to keep her motivated and challenged with some socialization. The work can be done from multiple locations in The Dalles, White Salmon, or Hood River.
The hours and days are flexible, but we're expecting 2 - 8 hours per week depending on the week's course load.
Her school starts on September 1st.
Responsibilities
Work alongside a high school junior weekly to assist and prepare her school work. We definitely want her to do all the work, but someone to guide her and work with her on work she may not understand.
Plan some educational field trips to get off the screen.
Requirements
Graduated with a college BA or above.
Educational and teaching experience preferred.
Strong math and/or English skills preferred.
Ability to connect with a high school student.
Ability to meet in person.
This would require a nine month commitment for the 2026/27 school year (with time off for holidays and the summer).
Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
