We are looking for a Special Fabrication Lead worker who will be responsible for maintaining production and distribution by fulfilling custom made orders for our customer base. This individual will be responsible for maintaining high production, quality and a goal oriented environment. This position requires essential understanding and control of the production process, accurate record keeping and general maintenance. Specific responsibilities include checking daily start-up of production orders and ensuring all corob’s, jet mixers and angle machinery are performing to the highest possible standards. This individual will be responsible for the quality of pails, angles and product matches processed through special fab. This employee will report to the operations manager at the branch and has a general responsibility for contributing to the site and company goals.
Role Responsibilities:
- Perform continuous quality inspection of corob’s while documenting appropriate quality checks.
- Responsible for the safety of department employees. Conducts safety checks, submits improvements or fixes to area, investigate incidents, performs periodic reporting to management.
- Responsible for creating an aged list of pails 45 days or older at the end of every month.
- Train and oversee new employees in the department and ensure all employees work as a team.
- Create and maintain a general housekeeping schedule with responsibilities to ensure cleanliness throughout the shift.
- Participate in operations management meetings.
- Ensure that production processes are carried out as required and production schedules are met.
- Holds employees accountable for their actions and job performance. Rewards and recognizes when appropriate, counsels, coaches and disciplines as necessary.
- Perform department preventive maintenance tasks as required.
- Cover for other supervisors as required due to vacation or absence.
- Perform basic troubleshooting techniques, must have the mechanical aptitude to understand proper machine setup and adjustments for safety and quality purposes to respond to malfunctions (jet mixers, corob’s).
- Handle material as part of manufacturing operations, maintenance, raw material handling, and clean-up activities, in effort to protect personnel.
- Responsible for performing operator PMs as scheduled or instructed.
- Resolve common issues regarding color problems, color variances, and equipment issues.
- Accurate receiving and shipment of purchased inventory.
- Effective record keeping by properly identifying, sorting, and organizing the inventory.
- Promote efficient space utilization of the overall local facility.
- Fill out necessary forms for receiving or shipping.
- Keep assigned warehouse, area, forklift, and equipment clean and organized.
- Responsible for opening and closing facility (as needed).
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
- Strong analytical, mathematical acumen and communication skills
- Works well in a fast paced, customer service driven, team environment
- Experience with Computer & Microsoft programs (ERP systems knowledge is a plus)
- Able to push, pull and lift 50-100 pounds
- Forklift experience
- At least 1 year of material handling and paint matching experience (preferred)
- At least 2 years of warehouse supervisor experience (required)
- Valid Driver License (required)
- Bilingual English/Spanish (required)

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
