Duties
- Manage patient appointments, confirmations, and rescheduling using patient management software and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Handle incoming phone calls with professionalism, providing information and directing inquiries appropriately
- Support medical administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining accurate patient records in compliance with health regulation policies
- Assist with billing processes, including verifying insurance coverage, processing claims, and understanding health insurance policies
- Maintain patient confidentiality by following strict privacy protocols and safeguarding sensitive information
- Coordinate with dental professionals to ensure timely patient flow and smooth office operations
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient questions, managing client communication effectively, and fostering a positive office atmosphere
Requirements
- Prior experience in a medical or dental office environment is highly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and communication tasks
- Knowledge of health regulation policies related to patient privacy and medical record management
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems for efficient data handling
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to dental care settings
- Excellent phone communication skills combined with professional client interaction abilities
- Ability to type accurately and efficiently to support administrative workflows
- Experience with health insurance processes and billing procedures is a plus
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to healthcare regulations
