Job Description:
Nerd Nation is seeking a dedicated and experienced Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of our thriving retail store. We're looking for a passionate, detail-oriented leader with an understanding of trading cards, video games, and collectibles who can deliver top-tier customer service and help maintain an engaging and welcoming atmosphere for our community of collectors and gamers.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management: Train, and supervise retail associates to ensure efficient operations and excellent customer service.
- Customer Service: Provide friendly, knowledgeable assistance to customers. Handle inquiries and resolve issues while offering expert recommendations on trading cards, video games, and consoles.
- Trade-In Management: Oversee and negotiate customer trade-ins for trading cards, video games, and related merchandise. Assess the condition and value of items, provide fair and competitive offers, and ensure all trade-in transactions are processed accurately and in line with store policy.
- Inventory & Merchandising: Manage stock levels, conduct inventory checks, receive and organize shipments, and ensure shelves are well-stocked and attractively displayed.
- Sales & POS Management: Operate and oversee the point-of-sale (POS) system, accurately track sales, process cash/credit transactions, and ensure register accountability.
- Event Coordination: Plan and execute in-store events such as tournaments, game swaps, and community gatherings to drive engagement and foot traffic.
- Store Maintenance: Ensure the store remains clean, organized, and presentable at all times. Report and address any maintenance or safety issues.
Requirements:
- Proven retail management experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- A genuine passion for trading cards, video games, and collectibles.
- Experience with assessing and managing trade-in items preferred.
- Ability to lift and move inventory as needed.
- Reliable transportation.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
Work Hours:
- Store hours: 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Compensation & Benefits:
- $12.00 – $15.00 per hour, based on experience
