St. Anne Catholic School & Church seeks a Director of Advancement to advance the mission of the parish and school through strategic fundraising, stewardship, and relationship-building. The Director oversees annual, major, and planned giving; endowment growth; capital campaigns; grants; donor communications; and advancement administration. The role collaborates with parish, school, and diocesan leadership to foster generosity and strengthen engagement among parishioners, families, alumni, donors, and community partners.
Responsibilities and Tasks:

Build relationships with church parishioners, existing school families, past school families (whose children no longer are of age), alumni, major donors, and community members.

Identifies and tracks major gift donors and other funding sources to support parish and school ministries.

Builds, cultivates, and maintains qualified prospect lists of donors. Addresses all prospect/donor correspondence timely and appropriately.

Plans, coordinates, and implements all aspects of a growth-oriented Annual Appeals (Annual Funds). Creates, writes, coordinates, and supervises the management of Appeal/Fund materials, mailings, website communications and miscellaneous literature distributions related to fundraising efforts in collaboration with stakeholders.

Promotes planned giving, especially bequests with the aim of growing endowment assets for the parish and school.

Collaborates with appropriate parish and school staff members to properly manage the administration of gifts of income and other assets.

Organizes fundraising events for parish and school.

Plans and strategizes all parish and school capital campaigns. Serves as the main point of contact with outside fundraising consultants on capital campaigns in the case an outside consultant is hired.

Researches and applies for grants for parish and school programs.

Works and collaborates with parish and school staff members as well as Catholic Diocese of Richmond advancement/development staff members on fundraising initiatives as necessary.

Develops and implements a parish year-round stewardship plan with the primary goals of building greater engagement and generosity to the parish.

Manages the administration functions of the advancement office.

Communitates in a timely manner with colleagues, internal, and external audiences.

Sources materials and executes strategies necessary to facilitate development efforts, to include related marketing items and activities.

Works with stakeholders to develop, revise, and implement pastoral, strategic, and master plans.

Assess the experience, skills, and abilities of full community members for building up the Body of Christ in the church and school, and help them be good stewards of their own contributable resources.

Works with existing giving societies and adds new ones, as appropriate.

Performs other related advancement work as assigned and that work which facilitates the advancement work (related marketing/communications).

Catholic candidates are encouraged and preferred.
Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree (ideally in a related field)

5 Years Experience in This or Related Field

Working Conditions:

The position is primarily an on-site position.

It will be helpful for collaboration with colleagues to work on-site, but as the position requires community, alumni, and donor engagement, work will also be necessary off-site, and/or limited remote hybrid, with evening and weekend work required from time to time.

This is a position primarily interacting with people, with preparation and follow-up tasks ideally in an on-campus office environment for access to colleagues and materials.

Ability to lift up to 20 pounds may be necessary; some light, physical effort is required (e.g., bending, walking, climbing on a step-stool, etc.)
