Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Associate to join our culinary team. In this role, you will assist in the preparation of various Cannabis infused edible and smokable products, while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. You will play a vital part in ensuring that our products meet safety standards and exceeds customer expectations. Essential/Primary Responsibilities:
- Support day-to-day operations of the kitchen including prepare, bake, roll, package and present cannabis products efficiently, meeting The Smiling Bud specifications
- Assist staff with the key aim of delivering Branded products on time
- Maintain quality control standards and adherence to CRC compliance laws
- Assist with data entry into Metrc
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of food items
- Follow food safety guidelines and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Collaborate with team members to ensure manufacturing specifications are met
- Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred
- Knowledge of all kitchen ovens, stoves and related equipment
- Must attain SERVE Safe certificate (training provided)
- Strong cooking skills with an emphasis on knife skills and meal preparation
- Knowledge of proper sanitation procedures and policies pertaining to food inspection and preparation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Must be able to lift 50Lbs.
- A passion for the food industry and a willingness to learn new techniques
- Culinary experience or formal training is a plus but not required
- Capable of working extended hours
- Three to five year experience in a commercial kitchen (preferred) not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
***New Jersey CRC Badge required***
- Assist in the opening and closing of the kitchen
- Help Prepare, and present edibles in allotted time ensuring all is up to par with The Smiling Bud specifications
- Produce infused and non infused pre rolls, vape carts
- Knowledge of hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen and the discipline to enforce those standards
- Keeping up to date with new compliance laws
- Maintain accurate food ordering and stocking levels, including all kitchen materials
- Assist in achieving project targets set by The Smiling Bud management.
- Able to work unsupervised in a busy environment
- Be professional at all times
- Perform other official duties as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
