What We Are Looking For:
We are currently hiring a seasonal Semi-Truck Driver with a CDL. The semi-truck driver will report to the Fleet Safety Manager and will be responsible for the safe operation of diesel-powered tractor trailer combination to transport and deliver products. Must meet state and federal requirements for Class A licensing.
It is imperative that the candidate selected has great communication, attendance, punctuality, and dependability.
Work Location: Candidate will be based out of the Ellensburg facility and will be required to travel to the Company’s multiple facilities in Washington state. Will also be required to travel to multiple outside storage facilities.

Transport products between plants, keeping accurate count of products being moved to various locations.
Moving oversized equipment on low-boy and double trailers.
Inspects truck and trailer for defects before and after trips and submits reports indicating truck conditions.
Ensures the load is secure and sealed.
Keep equipment clean, recognize problems with equipment, fix minor problems, and fuel equipment.
Perform emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, etc.
Position locks, tie rope/chains and load locks around items to secure cargo during transit. May install tire chains in winter.
Maintains driver log according to I.C. regulations and fuel slips.
Assists workers in loading and unloading trucks. At times, may stack cases up to 55 lbs.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other loading equipment.
Maintain required licensing (WA State Driver's License with CDL Class A endorsement and current Medical Examiner’s Certificate). TWIC must be kept up to date.
Maintain knowledge of current DOT laws and regulations.
Notify employer of any moving violations, accident and/or equipment damage, while operating a company vehicle.
Notify employer of any moving violations at the start of their next working day when violation occurs off-the-job and in own vehicle.
All notifications will initially be verbal to their direct supervisor and documented by the supervisor.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience Required:
- WA State Driver's License with CDL Class A endorsement and TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credentials) and current Medical Examiner's Certificate.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 250,000 miles experience operating a class A semi-truck and trailer.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions in English, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization in English.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Need to have basic computer skills, Able to check e-mail and stay up to date with DOT road conditions and regulations.

Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, frequently carrying objects weighing up to 60lbs.

Stand, walk, or sit a maximum of 3 hours prior to each break (maximum hours worked per week as allowed by DOT is 60 hours).

Ascend or descend ladders, stairs, into and out of tractor, on and off forklift and the like, using feet and legs and hands and arms. Maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow or slippery surfaces.

Able to twist/turn trunk of body from side to side, bend downward and forward at the waist, bend the legs at the knees, kneel and crouch.

Extend both hands and arms in any direction, finger, handle, grasp, turn or feel.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Talking, hearing, and sense of smell are required on a constant basis.

The physical requirements of a driver necessitate the constant use of legs, arms, and hands to operate all functions of the semi-truck.
