Special Education Teacher (Elementary & Preschool)
Location: Spanaway, WA

Schedule: Day Shift, 37.5 Hours/Week(07:00am - 2:30pm)
Contract Length: 2026–2027 School Year (43 Weeks)
Start Date: August 2026
Pay: $50/hr to $55/hr
Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teachers to support Elementary and Preschool students during the 2026–2027 school year. This is an excellent opportunity for educators who are passionate about helping students with diverse learning needs achieve academic, social, and emotional success.
The ideal candidate will create inclusive learning environments, implement individualized instruction, and collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams to support student growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students' unique learning needs.
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate educational records.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, administrators, and parents.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and behavioral interventions.
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development activities.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid Washington State Special Education Endorsement (required prior to start).
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience working with Elementary and/or Preschool students is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs.
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching practices.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
