Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate activities that promote infant development, including motor skills, sensory exploration, and social-emotional growth
- Ensure the safety and well-being of infants by maintaining vigilant supervision and adhering to all health and safety protocols
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and daily experiences to foster strong relationships
- Follow mandated reporting laws to document any concerns related to child safety or well-being promptly and accurately
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment that encourages exploration and comfort for infants
- Collaborate with team members to plan curriculum activities that support individual developmental needs and interests
- Administer first aid or pediatric first aid when necessary, ensuring prompt response to any minor injuries or health issues
Skills
- Proven experience working with infants in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings
- Knowledge of childhood development principles specific to infants and toddlers
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage young children effectively
- Excellent communication skills for parent interaction and teamwork
- Familiarity with child supervision best practices and behavior management techniques
- Certification in first aid, CPR, and pediatric first aid preferred but not required; willingness to obtain required certifications upon hire
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Ability to follow state regulations related to early childhood education and mandated reporting laws
