Hatchett Devlin Automotive Group, a locally owned and operated company is seeking to hire a dedicated and trustworthy full time Payroll Specialist. This role will handle a variety of tasks including processing bi-weekly & monthly payroll and reconciling benefits billing. The ideal candidate will have experience with payroll processing, employee benefits, general ledgers, schedules and general accounting while working in a professional office environment and handling confidential information.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Works closely with data entry, employee benefits and garnishments during processing to ensure all processes are timely and accurate
- Reviews computed wages and correct errors to ensure the accuracy of earnings
- Makes sure all changes to payroll are processed correctly
- Maintain accurate payroll processes
- Reviews and reconciles employee benefits as related to payroll including medical, dental, COBRA and 401k
- Runs payroll edit reports, balances, and ensures accuracy of Payroll
- Posts the payroll General Ledger
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment or independently and confidentially
- Ability to organize workload, adapt quickly to change, and deliver under the pressure of deadlines
- Review outstanding payroll issues per client specifications and communicate the findings to the needed parties within in 24 hours
- Investigate employee complaints and respond within 24 hours
- Perform other duties and special projects as requested by management
- Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
Required:
- High school diploma
- 1-2 years of accounting experience
- 2-3 years of payroll experience
- Knowledge of payroll processing preferred software, but not required
- Efficient with 10-key calculator, Microsoft office, Word, Excel and spreadsheets
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize assigned projects to meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, customers, and vendors
- Self-motivated; ability to take on assigned tasks with minimal supervision
- Must be detail oriented
