Overview
Chia Craze is looking for a friendly, reliable, and outgoing Weekend Farmers Market Sales Associate to represent our growing chia pudding brand at local farmers markets.
You’ll be responsible for setting up the booth, explaining our products, completing sales, and creating a welcoming experience for customers. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys talking to people, is comfortable selling and has sales experience, and can work independently in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and break down the farmers market booth
- Greet customers and explain Chia Craze products, ingredients, and benefits
- Confidently encourage customers to purchase and help them choose products
- Process payments accurately using our point-of-sale system
- Keep the booth clean, organized, stocked, and visually appealing
- Monitor inventory and report sales totals after each market
- Answer customer questions and handle objections in a friendly, professional way
- Represent Chia Craze with enthusiasm and consistent brand messaging
- Occasionally take photos or short videos for social media
Qualifications
- Customer service and sales experience
- Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable approaching customers
- Strong communication and sales skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Available on weekend mornings
- Reliable transportation to farmers markets in the DMV area
- Comfortable working outdoors and standing for several hours
- Able to lift and move coolers, tables, tents, and market supplies
- Previous retail, food-service, customer-service, or sales experience is preferred but not required
Schedule and Compensation
This is a part-time, seasonal weekend position averaging approximately 5–12 hours per week, depending on the number of scheduled markets.
Compensation includes a guaranteed hourly base rate plus performance-based commission, giving you the opportunity to earn more based on market sales.
Pay: $13.00 - $20.00 per hour
