Job Summary
We are a flooring distributor in Homewood, AL. seeking a reliable and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Driver - Class B to join our transportation team. This role involves operating various types of commercial vehicles to deliver freight efficiently and safely across designated routes. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, familiarity with different trailer types, and a commitment to safety and customer service. This position offers an opportunity to work with a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining compliance with all transportation regulations.

Duties
- Operate Class B commercial vehicles (26' straight truck-automatic transmission)
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Safely drive routes according to schedules, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure proper functioning and safety standards are met.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs for compliance purposes.
- Assist in securing loads properly for transport to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
- Follow safety protocols related to driving refrigerated trailers, tankers, or other specialized equipment.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL License with Class B certification required.
- Proven truck driving experience, especially in freight delivery, route driving, or operating specialized vehicles such as refrigerated trailers or flatbeds.
- Experience with freight handling, load & unload procedures, and equipment like forklifts is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving, including DOT compliance.
- Ability to operate 26' straight truck (Automatic)
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record; previous delivery driver experience highly desirable.
- Physical ability to load/unload freight and perform vehicle inspections; capable of working in various weather conditions. This position is integral to our logistics operations and requires a dedicated professional committed to safe driving practices and excellent service delivery.
Pay: $42,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
