Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Function/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. In this role, you will play a vital part in food preparation for our function business, ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards for quality, safety, and presentation. Your energy and culinary skills will help us serve our guests efficiently and consistently.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assist in the assembly of menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Execute food preparation techniques to ensure flavorful and well-presented dishes
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety sanitizing procedures and proper food handling practices
- Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients for upcoming dishes and catering events
- Ensure cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety management protocols
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to deliver excellent food service and support overall restaurant operations
Skills
- Proven experience in dietary department or dietary aide roles is highly desirable
- Strong culinary skills including knife proficiency, food preparation, and cooking techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food handling
- Experience in fine dining or high-volume restaurant environments demonstrating efficiency under pressure
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and food safety management systems
- Ability to work well within a team in fast-paced settings while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with menu planning, catering, and meal preparation processes
- Excellent understanding of the food industry standards for quality, safety, and hygiene
