Job Summary
New Leaf Coffee Bar will be opening mid July. We are seeking a passionate and energetic Barista to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for our guests. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and a desire to create memorable experiences for our customers. This is a great opportunity for students looking for a summer job.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to standard recipes.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently to process customer orders.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly and assisting them with their selections.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and follow food safety guidelines.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of supplies and ingredients.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
- Stay informed about new menu items and promotions to effectively engage customers.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or as a barista is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods and to show up on time.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is essential.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- A friendly demeanor with a willingness to help others create enjoyable experiences.
